About The Position
The Graduate Nurse works in the Process/Recovery department, located on the second floor at Freeman Hospital West. This fast-paced department provides care throughout patients’ surgical journeys, from preoperative preparation to post-anesthesia recovery, and supports a range of surgical and endoscopy procedures. The team offers exposure to diverse specialties in a collaborative, high-energy environment, with different shift options to accommodate flexible scheduling needs. Under the direction of professional RNs, the Graduate Nurse systematically and continually assesses assigned patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs; plans and implements appropriate interventions; evaluates their effectiveness; and adjusts the plan in a timely manner to provide safe and effective care. This is a full-time role scheduled for 36 hours per week.
Requirements
- Obtain a Missouri Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a compact state within 90 days after graduation or within 30 days after passing the NCLEX Exam in a state other than Missouri. A compact license must be held in the Registered Nurse’s state of residence.
- Obtain AHA BLS for healthcare providers within 30 days.
- Complete Perioperative RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
Responsibilities

- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust the plan in a timely manner to provide safe and effective care.
