About The Position

Saint Francis Hospital Bartlett is hiring newly graduating or recently licensed registered nurses for its full-time Graduate Nurse Residency Program, available across all nursing units. The immersive program supports the transition from student to professional practice through hands-on preceptorship, NCLEX preparation and reimbursement, professional development, and a supportive cohort environment. New graduate nurses must actively participate in the structured residency program throughout their first year. During the initial eight-week orientation, participants attend a residency class once per week; after orientation, they attend monthly sessions for the following nine months. Participation in all residency sessions is mandatory and is a condition of employment. The position requires three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends. Additional shifts, holidays, and schedule adjustments may be required according to departmental needs. During floor orientation, the graduate nurse follows the assigned preceptor’s schedule, including shift times and weekends. After orientation, nurses move to monthly self-scheduling, subject to final adjustments for staffing needs. Applicants must be graduating within the next six months or have obtained RN licensure within the last six months. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply, but cannot begin employment until they provide proof of passing the NCLEX and RN licensure. All candidates must have passed the NCLEX before their program start date. Applicants must be graduates of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing.
