About The Position
The Graduate Associate - Facility Operations assists with the operation of Recreational Services, including student staff supervision and development, safety and risk management, equipment and supply documentation, and promotion of recreational services. The position collaborates with Recreational Services staff and other campus departments and may serve as the point of contact when a professional staff member is absent. Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, are required for programming and events. Additional hours may be available assisting in student staff positions at an hourly rate. An offer is contingent upon acceptance and enrollment in the Graduate School at Winthrop University.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Acceptance and enrollment in the Graduate School at Winthrop University is required for an offer.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, for programming and events.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with recreational facilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating student staff.
- Develop and conduct ongoing student staff orientations, training, and workshops to promote student development and growth.
- Assist with safety and risk management procedures through trainings and mock drills.
- Assist with documentation of inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Assist with creating promotional materials and marketing Recreational Services through social media and promotional events.
- Collaborate with Recreational Services staff members and other campus departments to create cross-campus partnerships.
- Serve as a member of the professional staff and act as a point of contact while a professional staff member is absent.
- Attend Recreational Services staff meetings as assigned.
- May pick up additional hours assisting in student staff positions, paid at an hourly rate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
