About The Position

Ottawa University is seeking a Graduate Assistant Weightlifting Coach to assist with the day-to-day management of the weightlifting program. This role requires some night and weekend work and a commitment to Christian higher education with a servant leadership style. The position offers a tuition waiver for graduate studies, a partial meal allowance, and a bi-weekly living stipend.

Requirements

• Must be accepted and enrolled in an Ottawa University graduate program
• Completed online admissions application
• Required application fee
• Submission of official undergraduate transcripts (3.0 GPA – minimum requirement) earned bachelor’s degree
• Submission of a personal statement regarding career goals and three professional references
• Other items as identified by the specific academic program
• Completed employment application
• Cover letter and resume
• Eligible to work in the United States and present proper documentation
• International candidates must be able to secure an F1 student visa and meet international admissions criteria for acceptance into the Ottawa University MBA program

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and coach members of the WEIGHTLIFTING program
• Recruit, retain and graduate student-athletes who contribute to the success of the program and vibrancy of campus life
• Fund and friend raising for the advancement of the program
• Provide oversight of student-athletes academic progress toward degree completion
• Assist with all administrative duties as assigned
• Ensure adherence to the NAIA and rules and regulations including the NAIA Champions of Character 5 core values
• Provide leadership for campus involvement and community service
• Provide Christ-centered leadership and direction for the program
• Other duties as assigned
