About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) at the Tapia College of Business & Technology supports faculty and administrative staff in various administrative, academic and operational functions. This role provides an opportunity for graduate students to gain practical experience in supporting various functions within TCOB while pursuing their degree. The GA will assist with data collection, dashboard design and management, research support, strategic planning support, program development support, website development, event management support, and various administrative tasks to support the success of the College. Projects may be assigned to any academic or administrative area within the TCOB.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Saint Leo University in Business or a related field.
  • Candidates must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in the graduate program.
  • Strong technology, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, website software, and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • GA must be a self-starter, highly motivated with strong attention to detail, ability to seek identify and seek information, and problem-solving skills.

  • Previous academic or professional experience in business or technology- related roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key managerial data needed for TCOBT.
  • Map template of dashboard format in collaboration with TCOBT leadership team.
  • Identify and map key sources of managerial data.
  • Gather managerial data for current and prior year(s).
  • Create dashboard using approved technology.
  • Present dashboard to management.
  • Update dashboard as new data emerges.
  • Assist faculty with research projects, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
  • May help prepare research reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Facilitate discussion groups or lab sections as needed.
  • Assist in organizing information for reporting and presentation.
  • Track project progress of annual initiatives.
  • Assemble materials outlining documentation required for program and course approvals.
  • Assist with departmental events, meetings, documentation and activities.
  • Help maintain and update course materials.
  • Create stock photo storage for TCOBT events.
  • Gather information on events and activities to support annual impact reporting.
  • Assist in the development and execution of student programs and workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Associate Dean, faculty or administrative staff.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing initiatives as needed.
