About The Position

The College Aide will directly support Public Buildings capital projects through planning, design, and construction. You will work alongside project teams to streamline workflows, track regulatory milestones, and help ensure critical New York City projects stay on schedule, and support timely regulatory approvals for Public Buildings' capital program. The position will provide valuable exposure to public-sector project delivery, construction management, and regulatory processes while helping the unit advance operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.).
  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school to be eligible for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study (for Assignment Level II and III).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with tracking permit applications, approvals, and regulatory milestones across active projects.
  • Supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting related to permitting performance, approval timelines, and project delivery metrics.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of knowledge management resources, including process documentation, training materials, and reference guides for project teams.
  • Supporting research of agency requirements, code updates, and permitting procedures to improve consistency and efficiency across project portfolios.
  • Assisting with quality control reviews of permitting records and project documentation to help ensure accurate and complete submissions.
