About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) for the Sporting Clays Team and University Safety holds a dual role. For the Sporting Clays Team, the GA will support the Coach in all team aspects, including coaching technical skills, scheduling, organizing team bonding events, fundraising through sponsorships, supervising practices, team events, and competitions (including travel). Responsibilities also include managing equipment, supplies, transportation, purchasing, and setup/cleanup. The GA must be aware of and address student-athlete issues, or work with the Coach to do so. Additionally, the GA will be involved in marketing, events for non-team members, and recruitment events. For University Safety, the GA will assist in supervising the Student Safety Team, act as a Safety representative at events, games, and programs, and handle occasional duties such as ID creation, door locks, Safe Rides, van fleet responsibilities, and other assigned tasks. This position is within the Division of Student Affairs and aims to develop career competencies in Leadership, Global Fluency, Communication, Collaboration, Professionalism, Critical Thinking/Problem Solving, Career Management, and Digital Technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Full-time enrollment in a Saint Leo University graduate degree program.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching technical skills for the Sporting Clays Team.
  • Scheduling team activities and events.
  • Organizing team bonding events.
  • Raising funds through sponsorships for the Sporting Clays Team.
  • Supervising practices, team events, and competitions, including travel.
  • Managing equipment, supplies, transportation, purchasing, and setup/cleanup for the Sporting Clays Team.
  • Addressing student-athlete issues and concerns, or working with the Coach to do so.
  • Marketing and organizing events for non-team members and recruitment events.
  • Assisting in supervising the Student Safety Team.
  • Serving as a Safety representative at events, games, and programs.
  • Performing occasional duties such as ID creation, door locks, Safe Rides, and van fleet responsibilities.
