About The Position

Ottawa University is seeking a Graduate Assistant Coach to assist with the day-to-day management of the athletic team. This role requires some night and weekend work and a commitment to Christian higher education with a servant leadership style. The Graduate Assistant Coach will play a key role in recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes, as well as contributing to fundraising efforts and ensuring academic progress. Adherence to NAIA rules and regulations, including the Champions of Character 5 core values, is essential. The position also involves providing leadership for campus involvement and community service, and offering Christ-centered leadership to the program.

Requirements

  • Must be accepted and enrolled in an Ottawa University graduate program
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA earned bachelor's degree
  • Submission of official undergraduate transcripts
  • Submission of a personal statement regarding career goals and three professional references
  • Other items as identified by the specific academic program
  • Completed employment application

  • Eligible to work in the United States and present proper documentation

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train and coach members of the athletic program
  • Recruit, retain and graduate student-athletes who contribute to the success of the program and vibrancy of campus life
  • Fund and friend raising for the advancement of the program
  • Provide oversight of student-athletes academic progress toward degree completion
  • Assist with any and all administrative duties as assigned
  • Insure adherence to the NAIA and rules and regulations including the NAIA Champions of Character 5 core values
  • Provide leadership for campus involvement and community service
  • Provide Christ-centered leadership and direction for the program
  • Other duties as assigned
