About The Position

Ottawa University, established in 1865, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Coach to assist with the day-to-day management of the athletic team. This role requires a commitment to Christian higher education and a servant leadership style. The position involves some night and weekend work. The Graduate Assistant will be granted a tuition waiver for 18 credit hours per year for one of Ottawa University's graduate programs, a partial meal allowance, and a bi-weekly living stipend paid over 12 months. Renewals for a second year are based on academic performance and quality of work. International candidates are eligible for the on-campus MBA program and must secure an F1 student visa and meet international admission criteria. Appointments are typically made to students with superior undergraduate aptitude who are likely to provide high-quality service.

Responsibilities

Recruit, train and coach members of the athletic program
Recruit, retain and graduate student-athletes who contribute to the success of the program and vibrancy of campus life
Fund and friend raising for the advancement of the program
Provide oversight of student-athletes academic progress toward degree completion
Assist with any and all administrative duties as assigned
Insure adherence to the NAIA and rules and regulations including the NAIA Champions of Character 5 core values
Provide leadership for campus involvement and community service
Provide Christ-centered leadership and direction for the program
Other duties as assigned
