About The Position

The Graduate and Transfer Admissions Advisor plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of recruitment strategies designed to attract high-quality candidates to Niagara University's graduate programs. This position serves as a primary university representative at recruitment events, builds strategic partnerships with academic institutions, and provides comprehensive guidance to prospective students. The Advisor further supports organizational growth by managing promotional assets and maintaining data-driven records to optimize recruitment outcomes.

Requirements

  • Expertise in public speaking, interpersonal relations, and professional communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and CRM systems (Slate experience preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to travel for recruitment events and work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Some graduate study required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in recruitment, admissions, student affairs, or a related field (higher education experience preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multifaceted recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates across a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Represent the university at approximately 50 events annually, including graduate fairs, information sessions, community college fairs, community college individual events, and both on- and off-campus recruitment activities (including virtual platforms).
  • Proactively build and sustain relationships with key partners, such as undergraduate institutions, community colleges, businesses, faculty, advisors, and career services professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with prospects regarding program offerings, admissions requirements, deadlines, and the application lifecycle.
  • Track, organize, and maintain current recruitment materials, including program flyers, brochures, and fact sheets.
  • Coordinate with academic departments and university marketing to update promotional materials, ensuring brand consistency and timely revisions.
  • Facilitate the distribution of recruitment materials through both digital channels and in-person events.
  • Maintain detailed records of student interactions and event participation to inform outreach strategies and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of the Graduate and Transfer Admissions Office.
