About The Position

A Culinary CTE Foundations Teacher at Farrington High School introduces entry-level students (typically freshmen and sophomores) to the vibrant world of the food, beverage, and hospitality industry. Operating within Farrington’s "school-within-a-school" Culinary Academy, this educator is responsible for building a strong base of essential skills, technical knowledge, and the professional work ethic needed for students to thrive in advanced culinary courses, post-secondary education, and local industry careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum qualification for teacher, librarian, or counselor positions, with exceptions for designated CTE positions).
  • Must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
  • If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within 3 years and enroll in a Program to continue employment.
  • Must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year.
  • Ensure the enrolled program is aligned with the teaching line.
