About The Position
Coalbanks Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join their Grade 4/5 team. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be flexible, and an energetic team player. This is a 0.60 FTE interim position. Coalbanks Elementary School serves approximately 360 students and provides a positive and creative environment that develops the educational potential of all students through intellectual, emotional, physical, and social experiences. Literacy and numeracy are priorities at Coalbanks Elementary School.
Requirements
- Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Strong literacy background.
- Strong background on the new math curriculum and numeracy skillset.
- Experience and awareness of a combined class configuration philosophy.
- Experience and familiarity with Inquiry Based Learning.
- Sound understanding of teaching context and contributing variables.
- Deep understanding of subject disciplines taught and pedagogical approaches based on best practice.
- Understanding of planning, assessment and instructional practices.
- Understanding of classroom management strategies that contribute to a positive learning environment.
- Ability to use technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning.
- Qualities of a reflective practitioner who engages in professional learning aligned with the TQS.
- Commitment to the school community with respect to professional relationships.
- Belief in collaborative practice and teamwork.
- Active contribution to school and student activity.
- Overall ability to develop effective relationships within the school and community.
