About The Position

Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Grade 2 teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a 0.50 FTE interim position. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting student learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player. Requirements

  • Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of teaching context and contributing variables.
  • Possess a deep understanding of subject disciplines taught and pedagogical approaches based on best practice.
  • Understand planning, assessment, and instructional practices.
  • Understand classroom management strategies that contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Be able to use technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning.
  • Be a reflective practitioner who engages in professional learning aligned with the TQS.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the school community with respect to professional relationships.
  • Show a belief in collaborative practice and teamwork.
  • Actively contribute to school and student activity.
  • Have the overall ability to develop effective relationships within the school and community.
  • Provide a police information check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, with no charges or convictions.
  • Provide a satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Provide proof of photo identification (e.g., valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card, valid passport, or Nexus card).
  • Provide documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name.
