About The Position

This position will support all aspects of government property management for 40,000 line items of high-value government property, including NASA's space suits, ancillary equipment, and flight crew equipment. This includes building and maintaining a high-trust relationship with the company’s customer and the NASA government property administrator and solving problems on a daily basis related to managing this collection of government property.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with all 15 functions of government property management according to the FAR and NASA FAR Supplement, including Acquisition, Disposition, Records, Property Management, Physical Inventory, Sub-contract, Reports, Movement, Consumption, Utility, Maintenance, Receiving, Identification, Storage, and Contract Close Out.
  • Emphasis on the following subset of functions: Reports, Records, Property Management, & Physical Inventory.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with a property management computer database application.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical professionals, including government property administrators, engineers, and management.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to be successful even when forced to make unpopular decisions or requests.
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience is required with a BS/BA.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience is required with no degree.
  • Experienced with the principles of “Government Property Management Under the Control of Contractors†.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics Management, Industrial Management or other discipline related to the work performed is preferred.
  • Formal training and experience working with NASA property management is preferred.
  • Experience working with exceptionally high-value hardware is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Property Professional Specialist (CPPS) or certification issued by the National Property Management Association (or equivalent certification) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of government property management for 40,000 line items of high-value government property, including NASA's space suits, ancillary equipment, and flight crew equipment.

  • Solve problems on a daily basis related to managing government property.
  • Assist with maintaining property records and databases.
  • Assist with preparation of various reports, forms, and metrics.
  • Perform work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character.
  • Perform assignments that require some originality or ingenuity, yet usually involves limited responsibility.
  • Perform assigned tasks under immediate supervision.
  • Work on routine matters and depend on others for instructions, guidance, and direction.
  • Perform assignments that require little originality or ingenuity.
