About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire Government Operations Consultant III who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment. This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Plan Management Operations (PMO). PMO is responsible for the primary oversight of Medicaid’s managed care programs, with a focus on the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) program and Dual Eligible Special Needs (D-SNP) program. The bureau’s primary responsibility is ensuring that the managed care plans meet contractual requirements, including the timely provision of medically needed services and provider payment for such services. This position is responsible for analyzing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and/or monitoring contracted Medicare and Medicaid services within the Bureau of Plan Management Operations. This position serves as a contract manager and lead point of contact for their assigned D-SNP contract(s). This is work planning and directing a consultative program to ensure coordination and efficiency among administrative, program and operational aspects of service delivery and providing liaison and consultant capabilities for the solution of operational and management problems. This position is not a remote or telework position.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of health care facilities, operations, and management.
  • Knowledge of state procurement laws and contract management policies/procedures.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, word processing, spreadsheet and/or database software as required.
  • Ability to coordinate a consultative program designed to ensure the resolution of managerial and operational problems.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and work cooperatively as a member of the team.
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs.
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

  • One year of Medicaid or Medicare Contract Management experience.
  • One year of experience working with contract or program related activities (e.g. compliance reviews, providing technical assistance).
  • One year of experience analyzing data is preferred.
