About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer to support a government facility in Columbia, South Carolina. The officer will safeguard the site by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, communicating professionally with staff and visitors, and following site-specific security procedures. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located. The role pays $17.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; required for this driving position.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while following security procedures and site-specific policies and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Observe and report unusual activity, prohibited items, property concerns, and policy violations to appropriate facility personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow site procedures, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.
