About The Position

This is professional work providing management consulting services for a state agency to improve management capabilities and operational procedures. Provides management consultant services and assistance based upon well-established and accepted practices, theories, techniques and methodology. Provides assistance to agency officials and their staffs to promote the most efficient and effective accomplishment of the operating objectives at the lowest cost. Provides assistance to agency officials in the development of resource allocation methodologies. Conducts special studies, inquiries or investigations to analyze problems and issues stemming from management practices and recommends corrective action to agency officials. Prepares reports recording the results of systems work performed, including technical writings such as operational manuals, procedures guides or operator instructions required for systems operations, as well as project reporting. Assists in identifying areas of potential improvement in operations by use of ratio analysis and/or interviews with personnel. Provides management consultant services and assistance to improve management capabilities in contractual services and contract administration. Prepares research designs for conducting evaluation of programs and services. Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of systems against desired program objectives. Provides assistance to agency officials and their staffs to promote the most efficient and effective application of production management. Establishes time tables for completion of contract, consultation or production management tasks. Confers with industry heads or consultants on studies or recommendations affecting their organization or the contract under which they are working.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • a bachelor's degree (preferred bachelor's or master's degree in social work from a college or university social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education)
  • 3-5 years' experience in child welfare; preferred in child abuse investigations
  • Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board
  • Must be trained and practicing Florida's Safety Practice method

Nice To Haves
