About The Position

The Gourmet Market General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of our market, including the selection, development, and performance management of team members. This role involves ensuring adherence to company standards, managing operational expenses, maintaining a guest focus, and overseeing all aspects of market operations to drive sales and profitability.

Requirements

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration preferred.
At least two years of experience in retail administration preferably in market management, with increasing levels of responsibility required.
Prolonged periods of standing.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
Train and develop all new FOH & BOH employees.
Maintain a guest focus while performing duties.
Assure operational expenses and costs are in line with budgets.
Be knowledgeable of budgets and adhere to the profits they reflect.
Delegate tasks for ordering supplies and follow up to ensure accuracy.
Perform weekly and monthly inventories and update beverage prices on a spreadsheet.
Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
Maintain a professional restaurant image, including market cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
Ensure positive guest service in all areas.
Respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect team members, guests, and company assets.
Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
Complete accident reports promptly if a guest or team member is injured.
Assist in menu planning, development, and meal specials.
Ensure proper cash management controls are followed by all F&B staff members, as per policy.
Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, maintaining attendance logs, upholding service standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
Provide direction and communication to team members regarding operational information and procedural changes.
Develop team members by providing ongoing feedback.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of market staffing needs with trained competent individuals.
Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards, and procedures of the department.
Be familiar with resort services, amenities, and outlets.
Be available for work assignments outside of Manager’s customary work schedule, including evenings, catering events, weekends, and holidays.
Comply with all Store Market policies and procedures as described and communicated by management.
Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Work effectively with Human Resources Director in proper documentation and performance management.
