About The Position

The City of Aurora is seeking dedicated and collaborative individuals to join their team as Golf Shop Associate Outside Services. This role is crucial for ensuring an excellent customer experience at the city-owned golf courses. The position involves performing a variety of manual and skilled functions related to daily outside services, with a primary focus on providing professional outdoor amenities and services to maximize customer satisfaction. The Golf Division operates under the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years old by time of hire.
  • Good interpersonal skills that allow for friendly interactions with the public and employees.
  • Good communication skills both orally and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to solve problems, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner.
  • Colorado Driver’s License.
  • Background Check (if over 18).
  • Thorough Criminal Background Check.
  • Drug Testing (for safety-sensitive positions).
  • Employment References.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and knowledge about the game of golf.
  • Experience in a golf-related job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with inquiries and create a welcome environment.
  • Keep staging area stocked with carts and ensure used carts are removed and cleaned.
  • Monitor driving range and ball machine to ensure proper setup and sufficient supply of clean range balls.
  • Operate range picker when range ball supplies are running low or when necessary to do a clean pick.
  • Pick up trash around clubhouse and out on course when required.
  • Ensure water coolers on course have sufficient supply of clean drinking water.
  • Provide marshaling services to monitor flow of play on course and address problem situations.
  • Provide starter services on first tee to ensure timely start of all scheduled groups.
  • Maintain communication with pro shop to address any operational issues that need addressed.
  • Provide support for various tournaments, league, or other special event activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
