About The Position

The Golf Shop Assistant supports the Golf Professionals in the Golf Shop and Outside Operations, providing high-quality customer service and keeping the golf shop appealing. The role serves guests, assists with golf shop and course operations, supports merchandise and cash-handling activities, and performs duties related to sales, rentals, tournaments, leagues, and other services as needed.

Requirements

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language or languages used in the workplace.
Ability to read and write to facilitate communication.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computational ability.
Thorough understanding of course rotation and tee-time arrangement.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office 97, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to travel to other hotel departments in a timely manner.
Ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, perform repetitive motions, listen, hear, and see adequately.
Ability to work in a standing and mobile position for long periods.
Talking and hearing ability for continuous communication with guests, supervisors, and other employees.

Responsibilities

Greet customers enthusiastically, using their names when possible.
Maintain appropriate conduct in accordance with Omni Hotels standards.
Maintain working knowledge of golf operations, including the 36-hole course and practice facility.
Provide professional advice, opinions, assistance, and services as required.
Perform duties and meet requirements for sales, rentals, tournament golf, leagues, and services as directed by golf leadership.
Book starting-time reservations.
Promote the resort's interests by providing service to guests.
Assist with presentation of the golf shop.
Assist the Merchandise Manager with inventory counts.
Maintain and balance the daily cash register.
Provide a customer-friendly environment.
Answer questions related to the resort.
Handle player registration.
