About The Position

Waialae Country Club is a private membership club offering members a championship golf course, dining services, health and recreational facilities, and hosting the Sony Championship Hawaii. The club is recognized as a Platinum Club of America, an Honorable Mention Platinum Club of the World, and a Distinguished Club with ELITE status by BoardRoom Magazine. The Golf Shop Assistant works part-time, 20–29 hours per week, in the Golf Pro Shop and reports to the First Assistant Golf Professional. The role provides service to members and guests, supports golf shop operations, and assists with administrative, communication, and facility-maintenance tasks. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

3–6 months of related experience.
Ability to perform general administrative duties, including filing, taking messages, and data entry.
Ability to use Word, Excel, email, USGA GHIN software, and tee sheet/GPS software.
Must have an unexpired driver’s license.
Must be able to drive a golf cart and lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Engage with members and guests to provide excellent service and address their needs.
Assist members at the counter and by phone with inquiries and tee-time bookings.
Operate the point-of-sale system and receive and process payments.
Advise members and guests about attire and playing privileges for different membership classifications.
Take messages for members who may be on the course.
Maintain effective communication with staff and management.
Use a handheld radio to communicate with staff.
Raise flags each morning.
Maintain lost-and-found club records.
Maintain the water and coffee service area.
Stay familiar with retail products and assist the Retail department when needed.
