About The Position

This announcement is for a Head Coach position for Golf for the 2026-2027 School Year. The role involves coaching individual participants, maintaining records, providing guidance to squad members, recommending equipment purchases, determining athlete eligibility, overseeing safety, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship, and ensuring compliance with MIAA rules. The position is contingent on student participation and has a stipend of $3,550, subject to potential increases based on contractual agreements and approvals.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport.
  • Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues and other citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Golf coaching experience is desirable.
  • Previous experience in either high school, college or both is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
  • Maintain accurate records of squad lists, injury reports, scores of games (report to athletic office and newspapers as requested), incident reports, physical examinations.
  • Be available during the entire school year to lend assistance in guidance and counseling to his/her squad members; i.e. scholastic achievement, college entrance, citizenship.
  • Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
  • Responsible for determining the athlete’s academic eligibility.
  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility of area in which the assigned sport is played at all times that students are present.
  • Make regular check of the safety of all equipment.
  • Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship like behavior at all times.
  • Responsible for enforcing the rules set forth by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
  • Assists in the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment.
  • Coaches are responsible for equipment not returned by his team members at the designated time.
  • Organize and posts a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches.
  • Performs all other duties as the principal may deem to be in the best interest of the sport, pupil and school.
