About The Position

Repairs and maintains equipment used to maintain and condition the golf course, working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in a positive team environment. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, in the Department of Parks and Recreation. It is nonexempt and pays $24.22–$25.93 per hour ($44,080–$47,193 annually).

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented with courses specific to mechanical maintenance; an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience may substitute on a full-time year-for-year basis.
Six months of mechanical maintenance experience; an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience may substitute on a full-time year-for-year basis.
Valid driver’s license.
Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Regulations.
Subject to background investigation.
Knowledge of small engine repair, hydraulics, welding, electronics, and grinding and sharpening reels and bed knives.
Ability to operate equipment required for golf course maintenance.
Ability to deal effectively with the public.
Work requires long periods of standing; frequent walking; repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, or reaching; and recurring lifting of objects up to 49 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and setup of equipment and licensed vehicles used by the golf course maintenance crew.
Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies.
Keep the golf course maintenance shop clean and orderly.
Coordinate and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of golf course equipment.
Perform related work as required.
