About The Position
The Golf Course Mechanic ensures the proper maintenance and repair of golf and grounds maintenance equipment. The role includes helping maintain and repair gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, inspecting and diagnosing mechanical issues, supporting preventative maintenance, keeping service records, and ensuring equipment is ready for use. The mechanic may also set up and modify new equipment. The position requires work in a variety of weather conditions and proper handling, recycling, and disposal of potentially hazardous shop fluids and compounds.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
- Familiarity with and adherence to proper recycling and disposal of shop fluids and compounds that may be hazardous.
- Proficiency with welding and fabrication equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Degree or certificate from a college or vocational school in a mechanical field of study.
- A minimum of 2 years of mechanic experience in small engine repairs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance and repair of various gasoline- and diesel-powered golf equipment.
- Contribute to implementation of a preventative maintenance program.
- Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects or failures in golf and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and detailed service and repair records for each piece of machinery.
- Keep maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected so it is ready for use.
- Set up and modify new equipment as needed.
