Golf Course Grounds Maintenance- Governors Club
About The Position
Governors Club is seeking individuals with an interest in the outdoors, grounds maintenance, and golf to join its Golf Course Maintenance team. This entry-level role supports the team with mowing and course-conditioning tasks. Operators primarily use small equipment, including string trimmers, fly mowers, walking greens mowers, sand pros, and utility vehicles. Depending on experience and work quality, employees may be asked to learn to operate larger equipment. The role may be full-time, part-time, or seasonal. Typical growing-season hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with rotating weekend shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Typical fall and winter hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating weekend shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a background check.
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Be at least 18 years old by the start date.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Landscape maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Mow fairways and walk-mow greens.
- Perform woodworking, painting, irrigation repairs, and tree trimming.
- Operate small equipment.
- Set up the golf course, including cutting cups and moving tee markers.
- Hand-rake and power-rake bunkers.
- String-trim creeks and other areas of the course, and edge curbs.
- Assist with small projects such as sodding, tree removal, and bunker renovation.
- Help keep the maintenance facility neat and clean and ensure equipment is properly washed.
