Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a GNC Engineer to join their team in Orlando, FL or Dallas, TX. This role involves supporting the integration, test, verification, and validation of missile algorithms, as well as system performance assessments and trade studies. The engineer will be responsible for pre-flight performance prediction simulations, post-flight reconstruction, and model verification/validation with flight test data. The position requires experience with basic flight mechanics, equations of motion for six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) flight simulations, and strong problem-solving skills to identify and correct simulation or flight test data anomalies. Knowledge of statistical analysis methods, data reduction, reporting, and development of post-processing tools is also necessary. The candidate should have working knowledge of Linux shell, higher-order languages (MATLAB, Python), and experience with FORTRAN and/or C++ is a plus. Experience using and tailoring post-run analysis scripts and tools is required.
