We are seeking a Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Familiarity in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada.
  • Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and state estimation techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following GNC or Modeling/Simulation assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience: Guidance algorithm development, autopilot development, inertial tracking algorithm development, servo controller development, 6DOF vehicle model and simulation development.
  • Experience in air and missile defense, development, and testing is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a Linux-based operating system
  • Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems
  • Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)
  • Prior experience supporting flight tests
  • Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests.
  • Experience with different simulation and test environments (6-DOF IFS, HWIL, flight test experience, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that perform inertial tracking, inertial navigation, sensor fusion, flight control, and/or guidance
  • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
  • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
  • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.
