About The Position

Long-Lewis of Decatur is hiring certified Service Technicians for its growing GMC main shop. The role involves diagnosing and repairing GMC vehicles, working with service advisors, documenting work, and following GM repair and safety standards. The position offers flat-rate pay of $28–$48 per hour, with certified technicians starting at $28 per hour and Master Technicians earning up to $48 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekends off, and includes ongoing training and certification development.

Requirements

• GM or ASE certifications.
• At least 2 years of technician experience in a dealership or high-volume shop is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills and confidence using scan tools and codes.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work effectively in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose GMC vehicle issues, including check-engine lights, drivability concerns, and electrical problems.
• Perform repairs ranging from brakes and suspension work to advanced repairs.
• Use scan tools, multimeters, and GM diagnostic equipment.
• Coordinate with service advisors to keep jobs moving and customers satisfied.
• Accurately document work performed and findings.
• Follow GM repair and safety standards.
