About The Position

Long-Lewis of Decatur is seeking a detail-oriented, quality-driven Automotive Reconditioning Technician to prepare pre-owned vehicles for resale. The role involves inspecting vehicles, performing reconditioning and light maintenance work, and detailing vehicles to dealership standards so they are ready for the lot. The technician documents completed work, coordinates with service advisors, sales staff, and management to support timely inventory turnaround, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in automotive detailing or vehicle reconditioning.
Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with light vehicle maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, cosmetic, and safety-related repairs.
Carry out reconditioning tasks, including light mechanical work, minor repairs, and general maintenance as needed.
Detail and clean the interiors and exteriors of used vehicles to dealership standards and prepare them for the lot.
Document work performed and properly handle repair and maintenance logs.
Work with service advisors, sales staff, and management to ensure timely inventory turnaround.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow company and safety policies.
Communicate progress, delays, and concerns to team members.
