About The Position

This position involves working on the 3rd shift, from 8:30 pm to 6:30 am, as a Gluer Packer. The role requires observing and assisting with the feeding, folding, and gluing of materials, ensuring correct job staging, and maintaining quality control. Teamwork, motivation, and the ability to work independently are essential. The position also includes assisting with routine maintenance, organizing products, and understanding line metrics and safety procedures. Responsibilities

  • Observe feeding and folding of material and gluing edges and inform gluer operator of any issues.
  • Work with the Gluer Operator to monitor the feeding of product into the gluer machinery.
  • Coordinate with the Gluer Operator to ensure correct jobs are staged at the front of the machine.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and motivation on packing jobs.
  • Match all collating marks and pack all cards in the same direction.
  • Understand line stop procedures.
  • Show consistent improvement in speed and ability to keep up with the line.
  • Familiarize self with the items being packed.
  • Organize and sort products according to size, color, or other specifications.
  • During ‘Setup’ Operation: Take direction from Gluer Operator and Gluer Level II to de-stage last job and stage the next job.
  • During ‘Run’ Operation: Take direction from Gluer Operator to check for correct card, count, carton, side, direction, and quality.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks of cleaning and lubricating the glue machinery.
  • Assist the duties of other packers on the line when needed to ensure they are keeping up and paying attention to quality.
  • During any “down time” ensure product is moved and area is staged.
  • Observe when the Gluer Operator makes adjustments to the machine components.
  • Understand all folder/gluer line metrics and goals.
  • Complete daily end of shift duties as assigned.
  • Transition as an individual packer without relying on a trainer.
  • Correctly use required safety PPE: steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
