About The Position

This role is responsible for packing products into containers and cartons, sealing and labeling packages, and preparing them for shipping or storage. The inspector packer will also inspect products, materials, and containers to ensure they meet company quality standards, and identify and report any defects or issues. Additionally, the role involves operating or assisting with machines such as conveyors, starting, stopping, and monitoring equipment, and performing necessary documentation and record-keeping. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, working efficiently to meet production goals, following instructions, and being reliable and consistent are key aspects of this position. Communication of issues to supervisors is also required. This role emphasizes following workplace safety rules, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), reporting hazards, and working safely around machinery. Food safety is also a critical component of this role.

Requirements

  • High school / Grade 10 level education
  • 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing/packaging
  • Reading and understanding simple instructions
  • Basic writing/communication
  • Simple math (add, subtract, count, measure)
  • Follow instructions and procedures
  • Use common sense in routine situations
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Standing for long periods
  • Using hands for repetitive tasks
  • Light to moderate weight (up to ~50 lbs.)
  • Walking, reaching, handling objects
  • Close vision required
