About The Position

Chemours is seeking a Global Technology Manager for its Melt processable fluoropolymers team within the Advanced Performance Materials (APM) business. This leadership role, based at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE, reports to the Global Technology Director of Advanced Performance Materials. The position requires close collaboration with global strategic growth, commercial, marketing, and manufacturing teams to align innovation with customer and market needs. The Advanced Performance Materials business focuses on high-performance materials for critical technologies in semiconductor manufacturing, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, advanced communications, transportation, energy, and industrial markets. The role involves leading a global team of scientists and engineers, coordinating program activities, guiding development and prioritization, and overseeing R&D, technical service, prototyping, testing, and application development laboratories in America, Europe, and China. The manager will also interact with strategic customers and value chain partners to drive adoption of new materials. This is a key leadership position within the technology organization, working closely with the global technology director, VP of technology, global business development team, strategic growth team members, and other functions to develop and commercialize new offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in research and development, technology leadership, materials development, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience, including leading technical teams and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global technology organizations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong background in polymer formulation, processing, characterization, and product development for advanced electronics and semiconductor applications.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25%

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Expertise in fluoropolymer technologies, including extrusion, molding, compounding, films, tubing, and wire and cable applications.
  • Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, advanced electronics, AI infrastructure, high-speed connectivity, and data center technologies.
  • Experience developing materials for high-performance applications across industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, energy, electronics, medical, and chemical processing.
  • Demonstrated success driving innovation, strategic customer engagement, and global R&D organizations within both technology development and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a global team of R&D scientists and application engineers, establishing strategic priorities, talent development plans, and technical excellence standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress and results, and determine improvements or changes needed to achieve goals.
  • Work daily with the global technology and commercial teams to ensure alignment of technical resources with business strategy for new product and application development.
  • Expand capabilities to support product development, application prototyping and industry relevant performance testing for the target applications.
  • Oversee global laboratory operations and investment strategies, including implementation of new equipment, testing methodologies, and development processes - fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, technical rigor, and safe laboratory operations.
