About The Position

Bedrock is seeking its first Global Logistics Specialist to own the worldwide movement of the company's equipment, including Ops Kits (autonomous vehicles, sensors, batteries, spares, and tooling), and every shipment that goes out of, or comes into, their Richmond facility. This is a builder role where the individual will establish systems for tracking, customs, dangerous goods, and carrier relationships. The role currently operates across the US, UK, and EU, with plans for global expansion, offering a clear path to Logistics Manager. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, planning, and hands-on execution to ensure equipment arrives on time and in excellent condition.

Requirements

3-5+ years of hands-on logistics, shipping and receiving, or supply chain work.
International shipping experience, including ATA carnets and customs clearance.
Working knowledge of international import and export rules and regulations.
Dangerous goods shipping experience; lithium battery experience strongly preferred.
Experience with ITAR and export-controlled shipments.
Established relationships with major international carriers and freight forwarders.
Ability to work on-site in Richmond, CA.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, including to international locations.
Valid passport, and the ability to obtain visas for the countries Bedrock operates in.

Responsibilities

Own the global movement of Bedrock's equipment, including Ops Kits, end to end.
Plan and execute shipments to and from job sites anywhere Bedrock operates.
Maintain real-time visibility of all kits and cases.
Build in lead time, contingency, and backup plans for all shipments.
Solve complex shipping problems, such as urgent international part delivery or border delays.
Own international shipping end to end, including carnets, commercial invoices, HS classification, and customs documentation.
Evaluate, recommend, and negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers.
Manage and hold carriers accountable for performance.
Serve as Bedrock's authority on import and export rules, staying current and quickly learning new jurisdictions.
Navigate ITAR and export-controlled shipments correctly, collaborating with government and defense programs.
Ensure compliance without compromising delivery timelines.
Own dangerous goods shipping, including lithium batteries, ensuring safety and timeliness.
Maintain necessary certifications, packaging standards, and documentation.
Own all shipping and receiving for the company from the Richmond facility.
Pack equipment to ensure it arrives in excellent condition.
Receive, inspect, and route all incoming items.
Maintain an organized, labeled, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Design and implement systems for shipment tracking and visibility.
Develop country-specific customs and documentation playbooks.
Establish dangerous goods and export-control procedures.
Create carrier scorecards, cost benchmarks, and lead-time standards.
Scale logistics operations as the company's footprint expands.
Keep production, operations, and leadership informed about shipment status and risks.
