About The Position

Bedrock is seeking its first Global Logistics Specialist to own the worldwide movement of the company's equipment, including its Ops Kits (autonomous vehicles, sensors, batteries, spares, and tooling). This is a builder role responsible for establishing and managing all aspects of global logistics, from planning and executing shipments to managing customs, compliance, and dangerous goods programs. The role involves creating systems, processes, and relationships to ensure efficient and timely movement of equipment across international borders, with a clear growth path to Logistics Manager as the company expands its global operations.

Requirements

3-5+ years of hands-on logistics, shipping and receiving, or supply chain work.
International shipping experience, including ATA carnets and customs clearance.
Working knowledge of international import and export rules and regulations.
Dangerous goods shipping experience; lithium battery experience strongly preferred.
Experience with ITAR and export-controlled shipments.
Established relationships with major international carriers and freight forwarders.
Ability to work on-site in Richmond, CA.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance if required.
Able and willing to travel up to 15% of the time, including to international locations.
Valid passport, and the ability to obtain visas for the countries Bedrock operates in.

Responsibilities

Own the global movement of Bedrock's equipment, including Ops Kits, end to end.
Plan and execute shipments to and from job sites anywhere Bedrock operates.
Maintain real-time visibility of all kits and cases.
Build in lead time, contingency, and backup plans for all shipments.
Solve complex shipping challenges, such as urgent part delivery, customs delays, and entry into new countries.
Own international shipping end to end, including carnets, commercial invoices, HS classification, and customs documentation.
Evaluate, recommend, and negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers.
Manage and hold carriers accountable for performance.
Act as Bedrock's authority on import and export rules, staying current with regulations in operating jurisdictions and quickly learning new ones.
Navigate ITAR and export-controlled shipments correctly.
Ensure compliance without compromising delivery timelines.
Own dangerous goods shipping, including lithium batteries, ensuring correct, safe, and on-schedule movement.
Maintain necessary certifications, packaging standards, and documentation for dangerous goods.
Own all shipping and receiving for the company from the Richmond facility.
Pack equipment to ensure it arrives in excellent condition.
Receive, inspect, and route all incoming items.
Maintain an organized, labeled, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Design and implement new systems for shipment tracking, customs playbooks, dangerous goods procedures, and carrier performance metrics.
Scale logistics functions as the company's global footprint expands.
Keep all relevant teams (production, operations, leadership) informed about shipment status and risks.
