About The Position

Pelican is seeking a highly analytical Global Logistics Analyst to help drive visibility, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our global logistics network. In this role, you'll transform complex transportation, distribution, and financial data into meaningful insights that influence cost, service, capacity, and operational performance. Working across Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other global partners, you'll develop analytics, forecasts, dashboards, and business cases that help leaders understand what's happening, why it's happening, and where the greatest opportunities exist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing transportation, distribution, logistics, supply chain, or operational costs.
  • Strong proficiency with large data sets, analytical modeling, Microsoft Excel, and enterprise systems such as SAP ERP.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, structure ambiguous business questions, and deliver actionable recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BI, visualization, SQL, TMS, WMS, or supply chain technology platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze global logistics spend and performance across transportation, distribution centers, 3PLs, parcel, ocean freight, over-the-road (OTR), intermodal, and other logistics activities
  • Gather, validate, and analyze data from SAP ERP and other internal and external systems to create reliable business insights
  • Develop cost, trend, variance, benchmarking, forecasting, budgeting, and network analyses to uncover risks and improvement opportunities
  • Define, monitor, and report key logistics KPIs across cost, service, capacity, transportation, and distribution center performance
  • Build and maintain analytical models, dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports that provide greater visibility into global logistics performance
  • Translate complex datasets into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready presentations
  • Identify cost-saving and service-improvement opportunities and help quantify their potential business impact
  • Support logistics forecasting and budgeting by analyzing historical trends, business demand, transportation costs, and operational requirements
  • Provide analytical support for strategic sourcing initiatives, carrier and 3PL evaluations, service-level planning, and contract decisions
  • Support logistics network optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across Pelican's global operations
  • Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT, Customer Service, and external providers to solve business challenges
  • Develop business cases and scenario analyses that help leadership evaluate strategic logistics decisions and investments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
