About The Position
RBC Capital Markets is hiring a Summer Analyst for its Global Investment Banking (GIB) platform in Houston, where the office recruits for the Energy industry group. The 10-week U.S. Summer Analyst Program is designed for high-performing, rising college seniors and offers the opportunity to work alongside investment bankers on live transactions and client-facing business development initiatives. GIB provides strategic advisory services and equity and debt capital-raising capabilities for corporations, institutions, and governments. The role supports transaction execution and client work while developing core investment banking skills, including financial modeling, analysis, and industry and product knowledge. Summer Analysts receive support from a mentor, typically a full-time Analyst, and can participate in networking and social events to discuss career opportunities.
Requirements
- Be an undergraduate student in the penultimate year of study at an accredited four-year college or university.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be familiar with computer applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Be able to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Demonstrate strong competency in collaboration, relationship building, communication, integrity, and operating with a diverse and inclusive mindset.
- Have a well-rounded set of interests and extracurricular activities beyond academics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and preserve complex financial models.
- Create pitch books and other client materials.
- Generate and maintain financial models and analysis.
- Conduct research to analyze market trends.
- Support live deals and major transactions.
