Global Head of Social Media, MD

State Street•Boston, MA

About The Position

State Street is seeking a recognized social media expert to lead the enterprise’s paid and owned social media strategy, operations, and execution globally. The role calls for a creative, analytical, and entrepreneurial storyteller who can translate complex ideas into compelling narratives, build audiences, and drive measurable engagement. The leader will bring deep knowledge of social media platforms, content performance, audience and community development, and how institutional and retail clients engage across the firm’s businesses. Financial services experience and the ability to innovate responsibly within a regulated environment are essential. Reporting to the Global Head of Brand and Advertising, the position is accountable for social media strategy and execution across markets and business lines, and manages a global team of 8–12. The leader will establish social media as a strategic capability that strengthens the brand, amplifies the firm’s expertise, extends its reach, and contributes to business outcomes. As a senior marketing leader, this person will also help shape the marketing organization’s transformation into a high-performing, data-led strategic partner and growth driver. The role includes developing enterprise strategy and storytelling; ensuring consistent global operations; building business-aligned teams and a center of excellence; managing an external financial influencer community; leading measurement, data, and marketing technology strategy; establishing governance and risk controls; and partnering across Marketing, business teams, Legal, Risk, and Compliance. State Street offers a comprehensive benefits program, inclusive development opportunities, flexible work-life support, paid volunteer days, and employee networks.
