About The Position

The Global Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous improvement of Itron's non-manufacturing facilities portfolio worldwide while maintaining direct responsibility for the Liberty Lake campus. This position ensures safe, efficient, cost-effective, and employee-focused workplace environments through the management of facilities operations, building systems, space planning, vendor relationships, capital projects, and facility personnel across multiple regions. The role provides leadership to a geographically dispersed facilities team and partners closely with business leaders, Finance, Procurement, IT, Security, Human Resources, and EHS to support company objectives and deliver a consistent workplace experience globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive facilities management experience.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing multi-site facilities operations.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, capital planning, and facility-related financial performance.
  • Experience leading capital improvement projects and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Experience managing external vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional workplace experiences.
  • Proven ability to lead with accountability, authenticity, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Itron's global non-manufacturing facilities strategy, ensuring workplace environments support business objectives, employee experience, and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for office facilities across approximately 8 U.S. locations and 20 international sites.
  • Establish and maintain global facility standards, operating procedures, service levels, and performance metrics.
  • Drive a consistent, customer-centric workplace experience across all office locations.
  • Lead strategic facility planning initiatives that support organizational growth, relocations, consolidations, hybrid work strategies, and workplace innovation.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with Finance, Procurement, IT, Human Resources, Security, EHS, and business leaders to align facilities operations with company priorities.
  • Manage relationships with regional facility service providers and external partners, ensuring accountability, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement innovative continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, optimize facility utilization, and reduce costs.
  • Maintain overall accountability for daily facilities operations at the Liberty Lake campus.
  • Ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and performance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, security, and physical infrastructure.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, repairs, inspections, and facility compliance activities.
  • Lead office space planning efforts, workplace improvements, moves, and renovation projects.
  • Manage local vendor relationships, service agreements, and facility-related procurement activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed facilities team located across multiple regions, including Liberty Lake, San Jose, Raleigh, and other office locations.
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans that promote accountability and growth.
  • Foster an authentic, collaborative, and service-oriented culture focused on delivering exceptional workplace experiences.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and succession planning initiatives within the facilities team.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor global facilities operating and capital budgets.
  • Evaluate expenditures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service quality.
  • Review and approve facility-related purchases, contracts, and capital investments.
  • Support long-range planning, forecasting, and strategic investment decisions related to the facilities portfolio.
  • Lead facility-related capital projects, including office renovations, expansions, relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and workplace modernization initiatives.
  • Direct project planning, budgeting, contractor selection, implementation, and project closeout activities.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
  • Apply agile project management principles to respond effectively to changing business needs and workplace requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers, landlords, contractors, consultants, and strategic suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
  • Develop trusted supplier relationships that support operational excellence, innovation, and cost management objectives.
  • Ensure facilities operations comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and building code requirements.
  • Partner closely with EHS, Security, and Business Continuity teams to maintain workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and organizational resilience.
  • Support business continuity planning and facility recovery strategies across global office locations.
  • Lead facility-related risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
