About The Position

The University of Wyoming's Global Engagement Office (WyoGlobal) connects the UW community with the world by supporting international education, research, partnerships, and cultural exchange. Through its five units, WyoGlobal provides resources and services for students, faculty, staff, and international visitors, including study abroad, international student and scholar support, global research initiatives, and English language programs. Our work helps prepare students for success in an increasingly interconnected world while advancing the university's global mission. This Work-Study Business Office Aide position supports the daily financial and administrative operations of the Global Engagement Office by assisting with budgeting, purchasing, financial record-keeping, and general office support. This position provides hands-on experience with university business processes while developing valuable skills in accounting, organization, customer service, and professional communication in a collaborative office environment.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
  • Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student with work study eligibility
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office application
  • Availability to work on campus during regular business hours

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or interest in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, management, or related fields
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, and basic data organization
  • Previous experience in an office, administrative, customer service, or financial support role
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or record management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in documentation
  • Interest in learning university business operations, budgeting, purchasing, and financial compliance

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and supporting documentation
  • Organize receipts, invoices, and other documentation for procurement card (P-Card) reconciliations, expense reports, reimbursements, and purchase orders
  • Enter, verify, and update financial information in spreadsheets and internal tracking systems
  • Assist with tracking account balances, expenditures, and budget information
  • Prepare electronic files and maintain organized digital and paper records in accordance with university record retention requirements
  • Review documentation for completeness and notify staff of missing information or discrepancies
  • Complete special projects using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other university business systems
  • Assist with office-wide projects
  • Help prepare reports, spreadsheets, and financial summaries
  • Assist with inventory, office supply management, and document organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned that provide exposure to university business and financial operations
