About The Position

The Global Communications function is responsible for building and protecting Cisco’s reputation, aiming to increase mindshare and market share. Within this function, the Digital Communications & Strategy, Planning & Operations (SP&O) team focuses on connecting audiences to what matters most. This team leads planning and enablement to unify Global Communications, utilizing data and insights, powered by AI, and expressed through storytelling. The Business Operations Analyst will collaborate with various functions including PR, AR, International Communications, CEO Communications, Employee Communications/Events/Messaging, Digital Comms & SP&O, as well as Finance, Procurement, and Accounts Payable. This role is designed for an individual who is eager to help lead and support the organization in developing and implementing business and financial planning processes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience in a business analyst/manager role within a comparable or large-sized public company.
  • Minimum BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (specifically advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts).
  • Confirmed knowledge of accounting guidelines and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and business modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Quarterly, semi-annual, and annual budget and resource planning with functional leaders.
  • Review budgets with functional leads on a weekly or as-needed basis to ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Forecast spend (via virtual close process) and identify variances between commit vs. actual budget.
  • Compose bi-weekly and ad-hoc resource reports to support business needs.
  • Perform data management and modeling tasks for business reviews and key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the central operations team on tooling, systems, and processes to drive simplification and efficiency.
  • Compose and maintain comprehensive documentation, processes, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Cisco finance, procurement, and expense policies.
