About The Position

This is an 18–24 month trainee program specifically designed for Product Engineers, focusing on personal and professional development within MAHLE. The program offers diverse perspectives across various business areas, with a strong emphasis on strategic initiatives and the analysis of internal and external factors to develop product strategies throughout the full product lifecycle. Participants will engage in international and challenging project assignments within the Product Development department, including a mandatory assignment abroad in Mexico. The role involves coordinating the concept, design, and release of components and modules, managing Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP, defining thermal capacities and technical requirements, overseeing product cost, and executing Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R). The program fosters a strong community and network, providing extensive training opportunities, mentoring, and support for long-term career success.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • International experience through studies abroad or internships
  • High motivation, curiosity, and commitment to professional and personal development
  • Holistic entrepreneurial and change mindset, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on mentality
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and persuasiveness paired with a high level of initiative and change mindset
  • English proficiency and ideally another foreign language
  • Basic knowledge in Project Management principles

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with heat exchanger (e.g., evaporator, condenser, radiator, oil cooler, charge-air-cooler) manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics
  • Experience with stamping and brazing

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate concept, design, and release of components and modules within MAHLE.
  • Manage BOM in SAP and coordinate packaging of products into customer vehicle environments.
  • Define thermal capacities and technical requirements for components and align with customer needs.
  • Oversee product cost sensibility and sensitivity.
  • Create and execute DVP&R.
  • Be involved in international and challenging project assignments in various positions in the Product Development department.
  • Gain insights into other departments and complete at least one stay abroad in Mexico.
  • Analyze all relevant external and internal factors to derive product strategies and measures, covering the full product lifecycle.
  • Utilize analytical skills to process and analyze complex information in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, focusing on reading social situations and collaborating with people to leave a strong impact.
  • Demonstrate excitement and commitment to achieve ambitious goals.
