Global Brand Experiences Lead, Creative Technologist

Meta•San Francisco, CA
•$152,000 - $213,000

About The Position

Meta is hiring a creative-technical leader to shape how creative technology ideas become tangible, interactive activations across its portfolio. The role leads the Creative Technology Pod, setting strategy and goals for both novel product experiences (0→1) and scalable, reusable, cost-effective experiences (1→Many) built in-house. It brings technical depth into concept development early, turning ideas into buildable experiences that connect Meta’s technology with people through personal, relatable moments at tentpole events and brand activations. The role partners across functions to prioritize products, features, and messaging and align on the narrative guiding the work. It owns the exploration slate, prototyping and delivery, external partner selection, quality standards, budget, and performance tracking. It also develops a forward-looking perspective on emerging technology and what Meta should explore in future cycles.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in creative technology, experiential production, or interactive design and development, including work delivered in live or public-facing environments.
  • A portfolio demonstrating creative craft and technical depth, with clear evidence of personal contributions, original ideas, and concepts informed by technical knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with interactive and immersive technologies, such as Unity or Unreal real-time engines, AR/VR/MR and spatial computing, computer vision, generative AI models and APIs, creative coding, WebGL/three.js, sensors, and physical computing.
  • Experience building demos or interactive experiences tied to a product launch, including work involving unreleased or pre-announcement hardware or software.
  • Demonstrated judgment in allocating creative and technical effort and selecting a focused set of high-value bets.
  • Experience owning a build budget and a portfolio of concurrent projects, including vendor evaluation, tooling decisions, and governance of a creative technology stack.
  • Experience sourcing, selecting, and directing external creative partners, including commercial and scoping discussions, and setting and upholding creative and technical standards.
  • Experience collaborating with creators or artists on work that reached a public audience.
  • Experience driving priorities and outcomes across teams not directly managed, and participating effectively in creative and technical design reviews.
  • Experience building a multi-year roadmap or point of view on emerging technology for a brand or product organization, plus an existing network in the creative technology, new media art, or experiential community.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and deliver measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.
  • Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
  • Experience in an in-house brand, product marketing, or R&D group at a large technology company, or in creative technology leadership at a leading agency.
  • Smart glasses and AI experience.
  • Ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Set the Creative Technology strategy, decide which ideas to pursue, and determine what not to do each half.
  • Prioritize Meta products and features to build for in partnership with Product leadership.
  • Own the prioritized slate of Creative Technology explorations and manage intake.
  • Generate original build concepts and bring technical possibilities into creative discussions early.
  • Co-create concepts from the outset, shape proposed ideas, and preserve creative intent through the build in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
  • Build and prototype hands-on to validate feasibility and reduce delivery risk before committing to event or launch dates.
  • Scale successful experiences into reusable assets, document them for staging by other teams, and keep them current as underlying products ship.
  • Scout, evaluate, and select external studios, independent creative technologists, artists, and emerging-technology companies.
  • Set and uphold craft and technical standards across builds, including privacy and security requirements, and hold external partners to those standards.
  • Direct the Creative Technology Pod, set priorities for Creative Technologists, and manage shared services across production, fabrication, agency, measurement, and legal.
  • Own the build budget and track performance through the pod scorecard, including cost per activation, reuse rate, and downstream ROI.
  • Serve as the primary cross-functional interface across Global Brand Experiences, Product, Product Marketing, Communications, Marketing Insights, Data Science, Legal, and Privacy.
  • Track emerging technology and the creative community, and recommend what the organization should explore in future cycles.
