About The Position

The GL Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and performing month-end close activities. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data. The GL Accountant will also collaborate with other accounting teams, support audits, and contribute to process improvements.

Nice To Haves

5+ years of experience, preferably in general ledger accounting, month-end close, or corporate accounting
College degree in accounting/finance, or related field preferred
Familiarity with ERP or project accounting systems (Deltek, NetSuite, or similar) or a willingness to learn

Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
Review and analyze financial data for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
Research and resolve GL discrepancies, including unusual balances and reconciling items
Maintain and update recurring accruals, prepaid expenses, and amortization schedules
Assist with bank reconciliations and cash account review
Administer bi-weekly payroll process
Support fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation entries
Collaborate with project accounting, AP, AR, and payroll teams to ensure proper coding and timely month-end close
Assist with audit support, financial reporting, and preparation of schedules for internal and external stakeholders
Support process improvements and internal controls related to the general ledger and month-end close
