About The Position

Fowler Toyota Norman is seeking a Gift Shop Manager for their specialty boutique, Coki Bay. The Manager plays a key role in the operation of the boutique by overseeing the daily operations, planning, selecting and purchasing merchandise to be sold in the Gift Shop. The Manager creates a welcoming shopping experience while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends
  • Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
  • Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already on our shelves
  • Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company
  • Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
  • Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying
  • Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing
  • Attend wholesale markets and exhibitions to procure goods and remain up-to-date with market trends
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors performance of gift shop staff
  • Greets customers in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Performs sales transactions and returns
  • Handles customer complaints with poise and integrity
  • Keeps the store neat and clean.
