About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position works in our Hospital Gift Shop, an oasis for patients, families and employees. It is every other weekend, 9:30 am-4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday.

Requirements

• Experience in retail and sales.
• Able to handle money and experience with cash registers.
• Knowledgeable of basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows required.
• Must have knowledge of operating a cash register and making change.
• Must be able to provide work direction to volunteers.
• Must be proficient on Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in customer service and sales desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers.
• Responsible for selling merchandise, cashier and inventory management in the gift shop.
• Opening, closing, ringing up sale purchases, handling money, assisting customers, delivering gifts to patient/resident rooms, light merchandise stocking, visual merchandising the displays, and keeping gift shop clean.
• Operates helium tank.
• May check-in freight, determine retail pricing, and receive POS system inventory, which effects inventory management.
• Provide high level of customer service in assigned area.
• Provide support in the day-to-day activities of the gift shop.
• Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
