About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position works in our hospital gift shops. The hours are Thursday and Friday 10 am - 6 pm and every other weekend Saturday & Sunday 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. The role is responsible for greeting customers, selling merchandise, cashier duties, and inventory management in the gift shop.
Requirements
- Experience in retail and sales.
- Able to handle money and experience with cash registers.
- Knowledgeable of basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows required.
- Must have knowledge of operating a cash register and making change.
- Must be able to provide work direction to volunteers.
- Must be proficient on Microsoft Office programs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in customer service and sales desired.
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers.
- Selling merchandise.
- Cashier duties.
- Inventory management in the gift shop.
- Opening and closing the gift shop.
- Ringing up sale purchases.
- Handling money.
- Assisting customers.
- Delivering gifts to patient/resident rooms.
- Light merchandise stocking.
- Visual merchandising the displays.
- Keeping gift shop clean.
- Operates helium tank.
- May check-in freight, determine retail pricing, and receive POS system inventory, which effects inventory management.
- Provide high level of customer service in assigned area.
- Provide support in the day-to-day activities of the gift shop.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
