About The Position
This position works in our Hospital Gift Shop, an oasis for patients, families and employees. It is every other weekend, 9:30 am-4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday. Summary Greet all customers. Responsible for selling merchandise, cashier and inventory management in the gift shop.
Requirements
- Experience in retail and sales.
- Able to handle money and experience with cash registers.
- Knowledge of operating a cash register and making change.
- Proficient on Microsoft Office programs.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in customer service and sales desired.
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the gift shop.
- Ringing up sale purchases.
- Handling money.
- Assisting customers.
- Delivering gifts to patient/resident rooms.
- Light merchandise stocking.
- Visual merchandising the displays.
- Keeping the gift shop clean.
- Operating a helium tank.
- Checking in freight.
- Determining retail pricing.
- Receiving POS system inventory, which affects inventory management.
- Providing a high level of customer service in the assigned area.
- Providing support in the day-to-day activities of the gift shop.
- Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Providing work direction to volunteers.
