About The Position
The Gift Shop Associate greets customers and supports the daily activities of the gift shop. The role involves selling merchandise, operating the cash register, handling money, and managing inventory. Duties may include opening or closing the shop, assisting customers, delivering gifts to patient or resident rooms, stocking merchandise, maintaining displays, and keeping the shop clean. The associate may also operate a helium tank, check in freight, determine retail pricing, and receive inventory through the point-of-sale system. The position provides customer service and communicates with customers and coworkers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service and sales is desired.
- Experience in retail and sales.
- Knowledge of operating a cash register and making change; able to handle money.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to provide work direction to volunteers.
