About The Position

The Endoscopy Center of South Sacramento is hiring a full-time GI Technician. This role functions under the direct supervision of a surgeon, assisting with the operation of technical equipment used during simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The GI technician works as part of a team with the physician and registered nurse in the procedure room to provide optimal conditions for positive patient outcomes. Key responsibilities also include cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instrumentation, facilitating patient flow, room turnover, stocking procedure rooms, ordering supplies, and performing various clerical duties. The center is an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) focused on providing Gastroenterology procedures in a high-quality, service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Function under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during simple and complex endoscopic procedures
• Work as a team with the physician and registered nurse in the procedure room to provide the optimal conditions in achieving positive patient outcomes
• Clean, disinfect and maintain endoscopes and other instrumentation
• Facilitate patient flow
• Perform room turnover
• Stock procedure rooms
• Order supplies
• Perform a variety of clerical duties
