About The Position

At Endoscopy Center of South Sacramento, we believe health and care are inseparable. We are an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) providing Gastroenterology procedures in a high-quality, service oriented environment. The GI Technician/Endoscopy functions under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse and the GI technician work as a team in the procedure room to provide the optimal conditions in achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining endoscopes and other instrumentation. Other GI technician responsibilities include facilitating patient flow, room turnover. Stocking procedure rooms, ordering supplies and performing a variety of clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation of technical equipment used during simple and complex endoscopic procedures
• Work as a team in the procedure room with the physician and registered nurse to provide the optimal conditions in achieving positive patient outcomes
• Clean, disinfect and maintain endoscopes and other instrumentation
• Facilitate patient flow
• Perform room turnover
• Stock procedure rooms
• Order supplies
• Perform a variety of clerical duties
